Dune 2

Watched this on the 9th of March, 2024, in Curzon.

I loved it! A really great movie, full of spectacle. I thought it might have been a bit light on plot for the most part, but I didn’t mind because the scenes were so cinematic.

There were a few standout parts - Austin Butler’s Feyd-Rautha was genuinely intimidating and terrifying, and his final fight scene with Chalamet’s Paul was spectacularly done - no music, very few quick cuts, and insane choreography.

Chalamet also delivered a speech entirely in the made up language of the Fremen partway through, after he’s had the Water of Life and accepts his role as the Lisan Al-Gaib, and it was so powerfully done and well delivered it I wanted to cheer.

Some parts of the book weren’t translated to the movie with enough clarity, so I do want a reread, but overall a great spectacle and vision.
