I watched this on the flight from India on the 4th of December, 2023.
It’s the movie with Jennifer Lawrence, who’s hired by two parents to date their son and bring him out of his shell. I liked it! It’s very silly sometimes, but they’re both great actors and they have a peculiar awkward chemistry which was really lovely to watch.
It’s also excruciatingly embarrassing at points, and there are a couple of threads that are dropped and not picked up again, plus a gratuitously nude beach fight scene, but it’s not the worse for them!
The bits where the boy talked about his isolation and bullying in school were particularly good, as was Lawrence’s arc.
