Dream Factory is a short work about a near-future world where cats have bluetooth electrodes implanted in their skulls, and their behaviour can be programmed. The protagonist tries to free them by releasing malware that allows people to see their dreams. The characters are slightly 2D, but it’s great worldbuilding and the cats are so cute. There’s also a strong undertone of moral horror.
