The Study of Anglophysics

The Study of Anglophysics is sci-fi about two scientists who enter a fellow physicist’s mind using new technology and attempt to figure out the laws of nature in this new universe. They discover that they are based on the stoichiometry of language - to take an example, burning fir branches gives you a bunch of hats, because FIR+HEAT->FIRE+HAT.

Alexander takes this and runs with it, and the story ends in just a brilliant climax which must have taken ages to work out - he develops the linguistic equivalent of a fork bomb or nuke.
